Obituary for Frank Cox

Franklin Eugene Cox, age 78, of Dallas, GA., passed away on May 28, 2017. He was born on June 18, 1938 in Sullivan, Indiana to the late Garland and Juanita Cox. He received a bachelor’s degree in engineering from Purdue University, a master’s degree in engineering from Florida State University and a bachelor’s degree in fine arts from Kennesaw State University. Franklin retired after 21 years of service in the United States Army as a Major and a Purple Heart recipient. He was a member of Hope Presbyterian Church in Marietta, GA.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Shirley Ann Cox, his three sons; Dwayne and Sandra Cox of Dallas, GA., Brian Cox of Barnesville, GA., Darin Cox of Marietta, GA., a brother Brent Cox of Sullivan, IN., a sister Sue Cox of Sullivan, IN., his two grandchildren; Morgan and Jessy Atcheson of Dallas, GA., Brandon Cox of Dallas, GA., and a great grandchild, Zoey Atcheson. A number of other relatives are survived by him.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 1, 2017 at 11:00 AM from Clark Funeral Home, with Reverend Martin L. Hawley officiating. Interment will follow at Georgia National Cemetery on Thursday, June 1, 2017 at 2:00 PM. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, June 1, 2017 from 10:00 AM until the service begins.
